Papa Louie: When Pizzas Attack! is a run-and-punch platformer from Flipline Studios — the game that started the whole Papa Louie universe before the Papa's restaurant series existed. Papa's regular customers have been kidnapped by a horde of gooey pizza monsters and dragged off to a bizarre alternate dimension built out of food, and it's up to Papa Louie to fight his way through it and bring everyone home.
Each stage is a straightforward left-to-right platforming run: dodge or punch through onion soldiers and pizza monsters, collect coins along the way, and free the trapped customers you find locked in cages. Coins matter beyond the score — you spend them on pepper bombs, which hit harder than a bare-knuckle punch and are what actually gets you through the tougher fights and the boss at the end of each world.
Controls
Arrow keys to walk, hold either direction to sprint. Spacebar to jump, and hold it in mid-air to glide — useful for crossing wider gaps. Z to punch, X to throw a pepper bomb (bought from Big Pauly for 10 coins each). Keyboard only; this one wasn't built with touch controls, so it plays best on a computer.
Tips
- Save pepper bombs for boss fights and tight enemy clusters rather than burning them on single onions you could punch instead.
- Sprinting into a jump carries more distance than a standing jump, which helps on the wider gaps.
- Check corners and background props for coins and caged customers before moving on — it's easy to run straight past them.
A good pick if you want a short, silly platformer with actual combat in it rather than another endless runner — four worlds, three stages each, so a full playthrough is a reasonable single sitting.
