The Speed Ninja is an auto-runner from Playtouch that sends a lone shinobi sprinting across the rooftops of feudal Japan. You don't control forward movement — the ninja is always running toward a gong at the far end of the level, and your job is to keep them alive long enough to reach it, dodging spike traps, gaps and enemy ninjas along cherry-blossom-lined roofs and past zen gardens.
Each of the 100 levels is short, but the obstacle placement gets tighter and less forgiving as you climb through them, so most runs live or die on reaction time rather than memorization. A single mistimed jump or a shuriken you forgot to throw usually ends the level on the spot, which keeps individual attempts quick even when the level itself is giving you trouble.
Controls
- Up arrow — jump; press it a second time in mid-air for a double jump
- Right arrow — throw a shuriken at an enemy or obstacle ahead
- Down arrow — slide under low obstacles
Tips
- Throw shurikens the moment an enemy appears on screen — waiting until they're close often leaves no time to also react to the next jump.
- Save the double jump for wide gaps rather than triggering it out of habit on every jump, so you're not caught mid-air with nothing left when a second obstacle follows immediately.
- Coins along the route are a bonus, not the goal — chasing one into a bad landing is how most runs actually end.
It's a good fit for short sessions: each level is over in well under a minute, so it's easy to fit in a few attempts at a time without committing to a long play.
