Backgammon HTML5 Game

Backgammon HTML5 is a straightforward digital board of one of the oldest games still played today: two players race their fifteen checkers around the board and off it, with every move decided by a roll of the dice. It's a game of real strategy hiding inside a game of luck — the dice tell you what's possible, but where you actually move decides whether you get hit, get stuck on the bar, or get your checkers home first.

This version plays the standard rules: roll, move, try to build points that block your opponent while leaving as few blots exposed as you can. Bear off your checkers first and you win. It works fine as a quick pass-and-play with a friend on the same screen, or as a way to practice the game against the built-in opponent.

Controls

• Click or tap the dice to roll
• Click or tap a checker, then click or tap the point you want to move it to

Tips

• Don't leave a single checker alone on a point (a "blot") if you can help it — it's open to being hit and sent back to the bar.
• Building a solid block of points in your home board makes it harder for your opponent to re-enter after you hit them.
• Early rolls are usually better spent developing your position than racing checkers forward blindly.
