Bloons Tower Defense 2 took the simple balloon-popping formula of its predecessor and expanded it into a full-fledged strategy experience. You are tasked with defending a winding path against an ever-growing army of colored bloons. Each round brings tougher, faster, and more complex bloons, requiring you to carefully plan your defenses and manage your cash flow to survive.
This sequel introduced crucial elements that became franchise staples, such as the Boomerang Monkey and Road Spikes. The core loop is incredibly satisfying: pop bloons to earn money, spend that money to buy new towers or upgrade existing ones, and watch as your carefully constructed gauntlet shreds through waves of rubber.
Controls
Mouse: The entire game is controlled with the mouse. Click on a tower from the menu on the right, drag it to your desired location on the map, and click again to place it. Click on an existing tower to view and purchase its upgrades. Press the Start Round button to begin the next wave.
Tips
- Tack Shooters on curves: Place Tack Shooters inside tight loops or corners where the track wraps around them. This maximizes the number of tacks that hit bloons as they pass by.
- Boomerang Monkeys for groups: The Boomerang Monkey is excellent for dealing with large clusters of bloons. Position them so their returning arc covers a long stretch of the track.
- Prepare for Lead Bloons: Around wave 20, you will encounter Lead Bloons. Normal darts cannot pop them, so make sure you have Cannons or upgraded Boomerang Monkeys ready before they arrive.
