This is the dinosaur game built into Google Chrome itself — the pixel-art T-Rex that pops up on the "no internet connection" error page. It was added as an Easter egg by the Chrome UX team in 2014, and the version here is a faithful, playable copy of that same game, so you can run it any time instead of only when your Wi-Fi drops.
It's a one-button endless runner. The dinosaur runs automatically across a flat grey landscape, and your only job is timing: jump the cacti, duck under the pterodactyls once they start showing up, and survive as long as possible. Nothing else changes the outcome — no upgrades, no coins, no second life. The game speeds up the longer you last, and the scenery flips to a night palette every so often just to keep things visually interesting, not because it affects difficulty.
Controls
- Spacebar or Up Arrow — jump
- Down Arrow — duck (while running or mid-air)
- On touchscreens, tap the screen to jump
- After a crash, press Spacebar again to restart instantly
Tips
- Tap Spacebar rather than holding it — a held jump doesn't go any higher, so holding it just delays when you can react to the next obstacle.
- Once pterodactyls appear, they fly at three different heights. Watch the obstacle itself, not just its silhouette, before deciding whether to jump or duck.
- The game accelerates in small, steady steps rather than sudden jumps, so if you're getting caught out, it's usually reaction time falling behind, not the game spiking in difficulty.
It's a short, restart-instantly kind of game — good for a single quick round between things rather than a long session.
