Dual Cat Max is a puzzle-platformer built around a single trick: your grey cat, Max, can flip between a normal body and an invincible spirit form at will. Each level is a locked-down lab full of guards, lasers, pressure plates and traps, and the whole game is figuring out when to stay solid to interact with the world and when to phase through hazards as a ghost to slip past them safely.
The goal on every level is the same shape: reach and free your white cat friend, who's being held somewhere deeper in the facility, while collecting batteries along the way to keep your spirit power charged and fish to unlock progress. It plays like a quiet stealth-puzzle rather than an action game — timing and observation matter more than reflexes.
Controls
- A/D or Left/Right arrow keys — move
- F — switch spirit mode on or off
- R — restart the level
Tips
- Spirit mode makes you invincible to traps and guards, but you usually can't interact with switches or objects while phased — flip back to solid to actually use them
- Batteries power your ability to go spirit, so don't burn through spirit mode early in a level if there's a longer stretch of hazards later
- If a guard's patrol pattern looks unbeatable in solid form, look for a spirit-mode path around it instead of trying to out-time it
It's a good fit if you like short, trap-filled puzzle levels where a single ability does all the heavy lifting rather than a big move list.
