Hex Color Idle, made by Myafkish, is an incremental game about mixing paint instead of managing armies or factories. Five paint squares constantly produce color, and you drag that paint into a palette tray to combine it into new shades — working your way from black through blues, greens, oranges, reds, yellows and purples toward all 16,000-plus hex values the game tracks.
Whatever paint you don't need gets sold for gold, which buys upgrades: faster paint generation, better odds of rolling a color you haven't discovered yet, and bigger payouts per sale. Once growth slows down, you can reset your progress for a bonus of "gold paints" that make the next run faster — the loop any idle game lives or dies on, here reskinned as chasing a complete color palette instead of a bigger number.
Controls
- Drag with the left mouse button to move and combine colors between trays
- S: toggle auto-sell for generators, so output sells itself instead of piling up
- Mouse wheel: scroll through upgrade lists and menus
- Mobile: double-tap to move and insert a color
Good fit if you like idle games you can dip into for a couple of minutes at a time, since most of the actual waiting happens passively while paint generates in the background.
