About Kingdom Rush

Kingdom Rush is a fantasy tower defense game from Ironhide Game Studio: orc war parties, wolf riders and trolls march down a winding path toward your kingdom, and you stop them by building and upgrading towers along the route before your lives run out.

A level plays in waves. Early spawns are light enough to scout the map and place your first towers, but the pace ramps up fast — armored units shrug off arrows, fliers skip ground towers entirely, and bosses show up with a pile of extra health. You're constantly weighing whether to upgrade an existing tower or spend gold on a new one, when to drop your hero into the fight, and when to save a spell for a wave that's about to overwhelm a chokepoint.

Controls

Everything runs off the mouse. Click an empty plot beside the path to build a tower, then click a placed tower to upgrade or sell it. Click your hero's portrait to deploy them onto the path, and click a spell icon followed by a target to cast it.

Tips

  • Put a Barracks near the front of the path — its soldiers block and absorb hits, buying time for ranged towers to fire.
  • Mix Archer towers, which fire fast but hit light, with Mage towers, which pierce armor, so you're not helpless against either swarms or armored units.
  • Fully upgrading one tower usually beats splitting the same gold across two half-upgraded ones.
  • Save your hero and spells for the wave that's actually threatening a chokepoint rather than burning them on routine grunts.

It suits players who like methodical strategy games and don't mind replaying a level once or twice to earn a full star rating.

Kingdom Rush FAQ

What are the controls for Kingdom Rush?
It's entirely mouse-driven. Click an empty plot to build a tower, click an existing tower to upgrade or sell it, and click your hero or a spell icon and then a target to use them.
How many tower types are there?
Four core towers — Barracks (melee soldiers), Archer Tower, Mage Tower and Artillery — and each can be upgraded to hit harder or gain new effects.
Does the game save my progress?
That depends on the site hosting it. Without an account or cloud save, your star ratings and unlocks are stored locally in the browser and can be lost if you clear site data.
Is Kingdom Rush hard?
The opening levels are forgiving, but later waves mix armored trolls with fast units, so losing a life while you learn a level's spawn pattern is normal — replay it once you know the map for a full 3-star clear.
