Snackio takes the classic snake formula and turns it into a puzzle: instead of an open arena, each level is a tight grid packed with walls, dead ends, and scattered food. You steer the snake with your cursor, threading it toward every piece of food on the board while keeping your ever-growing tail from cutting off your own path.
Because the game is played level by level rather than as one long endless run, positioning matters more than speed. A wrong turn early on can trap you a few moves later, so most levels reward a couple of seconds spent reading the board before committing to a route. Clearing a level with fewer wasted turns earns a better star rating, which keeps the puzzle side of the game relevant even after you've learned the basic movement.
Controls
Snackio is played entirely with the mouse or a fingertip — move your cursor, or drag on a touchscreen, and the snake turns to follow it. There's no keyboard input.
Tips
- Look at the whole grid before your first move — plan a route to every piece of food rather than turning toward whichever one is closest.
- Leave yourself room to grow. A path that's fine early in a level can turn into a wall of your own tail a few pieces later.
- If a level looks like it only has one workable route, take it slowly — one early wrong turn is usually the real mistake, not a hard level.
It's a good fit for short sessions — a single level rarely takes long, but there are enough of them that the puzzle-solving keeps building.
