Strike Force Heroes is a side-scrolling run-and-gun shooter with an RPG layer bolted on: you pick a soldier class, fight through a campaign of combat missions, and spend the XP and cash you earn on new weapons, gear, and perks. It's less about twitch reflexes alone and more about building a loadout that fits how you like to fight before you walk into the next mission.
Each class plays differently enough to matter — the game gives you a handful of soldier types to choose from, each with its own strengths, weaknesses, and preferred playstyle, so a mission that's a slog with one class can feel completely different with another. Beyond the campaign there are challenge missions and a quick-game mode for shorter runs once you've got a build you like.
Controls
- A/D or Left/Right arrows — move
- W, Up arrow, or Space — jump
- Hold S or Down — crouch
- Q or Shift — switch weapon
- Left mouse button — aim and shoot
- Esc — pause/quit
Tips
- Spend early XP on gear that fixes your class's weakness rather than doubling down on what it's already good at.
- Crouching steadies your aim and makes you a smaller target, so use it when a fight lets you hold ground instead of running and gunning.
- If a mission is going badly, try clearing a challenge mission first — the extra cash makes the campaign easier when you come back to it.
Good fit for anyone who likes a shooter with some build variety and short, replayable missions rather than one long linear campaign.
