Subway Surfers Blast takes the characters from the endless-runner original and drops them into a tile-matching puzzle instead. Rounds are built around clearing boards of colored tiles rather than dodging trains, so the pace is calmer and more deliberate — plan a move, clear a cluster, watch the board settle, plan the next one.
Matching tiles fills a star meter that unlocks new areas of a hangout space you can decorate, so progress carries over between puzzles instead of resetting each round. Jake, Yutani, Fresh and Tricky show up as playable characters, each with their own assist ability for getting through tougher boards.
Controls
Everything runs on clicks or taps. Select two or more matching tiles to clear them — there is nothing to learn beyond pointing and clicking, which is why it works as well on a phone as it does with a mouse.
Tips
- Clear larger matched groups before small ones — bigger groups tend to create bonus tiles that clear more of the board in one go.
- Use a character's special ability when the board gets crowded rather than saving it for later; a stuck board is exactly what it's meant to fix.
- Star progress carries between sessions, so short five-minute play sessions still add up toward unlocking new hangout areas.
Good fit for anyone who likes puzzle games and wants something with familiar characters but a much slower, more relaxed pace than the original running game.
