Tecmo Bowl brings the iconic 8-bit American football experience straight to your browser. Instead of complex modern playbooks, this classic arcade sports game strips the gridiron down to its most entertaining elements: fast pacing, huge tackles, and straightforward running and passing.

Before each snap, you select from a handful of simple offensive or defensive plays. The core loop relies heavily on reading the opponent's formation—if the defense guesses the offensive play correctly, the line collapses for a massive sack or tackle for loss. On offense, success comes from timing your throws and dodging defenders with quick zigzag movements once your receiver has the ball.

Tips

• Star players: Some running backs are significantly faster than others. Learn which players on your roster can outrun the defense and feed them the ball.
• Play Calling: Try not to become predictable. If you spam the same pass play, the computer will adapt and consistently stuff the line of scrimmage.
