There Is No Game is a short, clever puzzle experience that actively tries to convince you to stop playing it. From the moment it loads, a sarcastic narrator insists there is nothing to see or do, challenging you to stubbornly poke at the interface until things start breaking. As you drag letters, click on UI elements, and ignore all instructions to leave, the "non-game" gradually unravels into a series of creative, fourth-wall-breaking puzzles.
The entire experience is built around ignoring the narrator and experimenting with whatever is on the screen. It plays like a traditional point-and-click adventure stripped down to just a title screen and a voice. You will need to think outside the box, using pieces of the game's own menus and text to solve problems and force the game to keep going.
Controls
- Left Click: Interact with objects, grab items, and click on text.
- Mouse Drag: Move loose elements around the screen or throw them.
Tips
- Click the letters: The game's title is fully interactive. When letters fall down, try using them as physical objects to interact with things on the screen.
- Listen to the narrator's complaints: The narrator will often angrily tell you exactly what not to do, which is precisely the hint you need to progress.
- Look for physics objects: Some puzzles require you to pick up and drop items to smash things open.
