Vex 8 is the eighth entry in the long-running stickman parkour series, and it puts precision above everything else. You guide a small stick figure through obstacle courses stacked with spikes, buzzsaws, and swinging hazards, aiming for the green portal at the end of each act without a single wasted step.
What sets this entry apart is a pair of new mechanics: poles you can climb to reach otherwise unreachable ledges, and red-and-green light traps that punish anyone moving on the wrong color. Both force you to slow down and read a level before sprinting through it, which changes the rhythm of a series that used to reward pure speed.
Controls
- Arrow keys or WASD: Move left and right
- Up / W: Jump, and jump again near a wall or pole to climb it
- Down / S: Crouch or slide under obstacles
- R: Restart the act
Tips
- Each act has three optional missions — clearing all of them unlocks Hardcore mode, so a level you've already beaten is still worth replaying.
- On red-and-green light sections, commit to a full stop the instant it turns red; slowing down halfway still gets you killed.
- Use poles for vertical shortcuts even when a jump looks possible — the climb is usually safer than the fall.
- If you die at the same spot twice, the layout is telling you to change your route, not just try faster.
Vex 8 suits players who already know the series and want a tighter, trickier follow-up rather than a reinvention — patient platformer fans more than casual clickers.
