Burnout Drift: Hilltop throws you onto treacherous mountain roads where the only way down is sideways. It is a 3D driving game entirely focused on car control. Instead of racing against a clock, you are chasing drift scores, trying to slide your car around narrow alpine corners without hitting the guardrails.
You earn cash for every successful drift, which you can spend in the garage to buy new cars or tune your current vehicle. The physics are forgiving enough to make sliding accessible, but linking multiple corners together without breaking your combo requires a genuine understanding of momentum and counter-steering.
Controls
- Accelerate / Brake: Up and Down arrows or W and S keys.
- Steer: Left and Right arrows or A and D keys.
- Handbrake: Spacebar to aggressively throw the back of the car out.
- Change Camera: Press C to switch between chase and hood views.
- Reset: Press R if you flip over or get stuck.
Tips
- Use the handbrake sparingly: While it is great for initiating a slide on a tight hairpin, relying on it too much will kill your speed. Try entering wider corners just by lifting off the throttle and turning in sharply.
- Manage your throttle: Do not just hold the accelerator down during a drift. Modulate your speed to keep the car balanced.
- Bank your score: Your drift points only get added to your wallet if you successfully finish the slide. Hitting a wall instantly zeroes out your current combo, so play it safe if you have a massive multiplier running.
