Dinosaur Game is the endless runner Google built into Chrome for the moments your connection drops — a pixel-art T-Rex sprinting through a grey desert, and nothing to do but jump. There's no menu, no story, no levels: just a flat horizon, a scrolling row of cacti, and a run that only ends when you clip one.
The pace is the whole design. Your dino runs at a fixed speed that climbs the longer you survive, so a jump timing that felt generous ten seconds in gets tight fast. Clear a small cactus and a cluster of tall ones is often waiting right behind it, so you're reading the gap ahead rather than reacting to what's already under your feet. There's no lives system and no checkpoints — one touch ends the run, and your score resets to the top of the leaderboard for that session, not saved anywhere.
Controls
- Spacebar or Up Arrow — jump. Tap for a short hop over a lone cactus, hold slightly longer for more height over a cluster.
- Down Arrow — duck while airborne, dropping you back to the ground faster.
- Enter — restart after a crash.
Tips
- Jump a beat earlier than instinct says once the speed ramps up — at higher speed the window between "safe" and "too late" shrinks to well under a second.
- Watch for back-to-back cacti rather than jumping reactively; clusters of two or three tall ones are the runs that end most attempts.
- A short tap clears a single small cactus without over-committing your landing — save the longer holds for the wide clusters.
It's a two-minute distraction more than a deep game, and that's the appeal: no install, no loading screen, just open it and start running.
