Battle for the Galaxy puts you in command of a small space outpost that you have to grow into a base capable of holding its own against players. Every session runs the same loop: queue up resource production, add or upgrade a building, then decide whether you have enough spare troops to send out on a raid or whether it's smarter to keep them home to defend.
Because it's a persistent MMO rather than a quick arcade round, progress carries over between visits — buildings keep producing and fleets keep training while you're away, and commanders can hit your base in the meantime. It rewards checking in regularly and planning a few moves ahead rather than one long sitting.
Controls
- Left-click to place, select, and manage buildings
- Left-click to deploy troops during a battle
Everything runs off the mouse — there's no keyboard input to learn.
Tips
- Build up resource production before pouring everything into troops — an undefended economy is an easy target for players.
- Join a corporation early; teaming up with commanders makes both raiding and defending easier.
- Work through the singleplayer missions first if you want to learn the systems before fighting real players.
It suits players who enjoy slower-burn base-building and strategy games that reward planning and patience over fast reflexes.
