Bloons Tower Defense is the original 2007 game that started Ninja Kiwi's tower defense series: bloons march along a set path, and you place monkey towers alongside it to pop as many as possible before they reach the end.
Popping a bloon isn't always the end of it - most types split into a weaker bloon when hit, so a single dart can chain through several pops before the last one gets through. Money earned from popped bloons goes straight into buying new towers and upgrading the ones you already have, and balancing spending now against saving for a stronger tower later is most of the game.
Towers
Five tower types: Dart Tower, Tack Tower, Ice Tower, Bomb Tower, and Super Monkey. Each has two upgrade tiers, except the Super Monkey, which has one.
Bloons
Six bloon types, weakest to strongest: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Black, and White. Green Bloons move quickly and split into a Blue Bloon when popped; Yellow Bloons move even faster and split into a Green. Black and White Bloons both split into two Yellow Bloons when popped - Black is immune to Bomb Tower attacks, White is immune to Ice Tower attacks.
Controls
Mouse only: click a tower in the menu to select it, click a spot along the path to place it, and click a placed tower to upgrade or sell it.
Tips
- Don't rely on Bomb Towers alone - they can't hit Black Bloons, so pair them with another tower type.
- Ice Towers can't touch White Bloons for the same reason, in reverse.
- Place towers where the path bends or loops rather than on a straight stretch - a bend covers more of the track from a single spot.
