Calamari Game

Calamari is a fast, frantic arcade game from Nitrome where the whole level is a floating stack of blocks and you're the only thing standing between you and a very sudden crush. Coins are scattered through the blocks, and the only way to reach most of them is to shoot your way in — but every block you clear can bring the ones above it crashing down.

The tension comes from that trade-off. Blast too cautiously and you'll never clean out a path to the coins; blast too aggressively and you'll open a gap right under a falling block with nowhere left to dodge. Rounds are short and score-driven, so a run is really a series of quick decisions about which block to clear next and how much room you're leaving yourself.

Controls

Move with WASD or the arrow keys. Shoot with Spacebar.

Multiplayer

Calamari also supports local multiplayer on the same keyboard, so two people can compete for the same coins and try to bury each under a well-timed block instead.

It suits short sessions best — a few runs at a time rather than one long sitting, since each round lives or dies on a handful of quick calls.
