Calamari is a fast-paced retro arcade shooter developed by Nitrome. In this game, you control a little squid sliding along circular or rectangular rails, trying to survive in a constantly shifting arena. Shifting blocks, deadly spikes, and aggressive cannons threaten to crush or blast you at any second, requiring quick reflexes to navigate the ever-changing layout.
Survival is not just about dodging; it is also about resource management. Your squid shoots eggs to destroy blocks and enemies, but your ammunition is strictly limited. You must constantly grab extra eggs to reload, all while collecting coins to boost your high score. The game supports both single-player challenges and two-player local co-op on the same keyboard, making it a frantic test of coordination as you work together or compete to stay alive.

Survival Tips
- Conserve Your Eggs: Do not spam shots blindly. Since ammo is limited, only shoot blocks that block your path or enemies that actively threaten your position.
- Watch the Shifting Grid: Blocks move dynamically. Anticipate where a block will land so you do not get pinned against a rail and crushed.
- Coordinate in Co-op: With two players on the board, the screen gets chaotic. Split up to collect coins and ammo, but stay clear of each 's paths to avoid crowding.
