Cat Bird is a 2D platformer about a little cat-bird hybrid trying to get home. Each level drops you into a short obstacle course full of saw blades, spikes and forest traps, and the trick to surviving them is the glide: hold the jump button and Cat Bird flutters instead of dropping, turning a fall into a controlled float over hazards you'd never clear with a normal jump.
The pace is quick and forgiving at the same time. There's no life counter to run out of — deaths just add to a running tally, so a bad landing costs you a restart of the level, not the run. Levels are grouped into worlds, and you travel between them through a portal at the end of each one; a handful of hidden crowns tucked into tricky corners give completionists a reason to replay levels they've already cleared.
Controls
- A/D or Left/Right arrow keys — move
- Z or Spacebar — jump; hold to glide
Tips
- Tap jump for a short hop, hold it for the glide — most saw-blade gaps need the glide, not the hop.
- Gliding trades vertical speed for horizontal distance, so start it early rather than at the edge of a platform.
- If a crown is visible but awkward to reach, it's usually a glide-timing puzzle rather than a hidden path — try approaching it from a different platform.
It's a good fit for short sessions: levels are quick to retry, the controls are just two inputs, and the difficulty comes from timing rather than memorization.
