Compact Conflict is a turn-based territory strategy game by Jakub Wasilewski, a compact riff on Risk played out on a small hex-shaped map. You lead one of four factions — Amber, Crimson, Lavender, or Emerald — starting with a single temple and a handful of soldiers against three AI-controlled rivals.
Every turn gives you three moves: select a soldier, then click a neighboring region to march into it or attack whoever holds it. Temples you control keep producing new soldiers and generate Faith, which you spend on upgrades and reinforcements. Before a match starts you choose how long it runs — 9, 12, 15, or endless turns — and whoever holds the most regions when the clock runs out wins, unless one faction wipes out all the others first.
Controls
Mouse only. Left-click a soldier to select it, then left-click a region to move or attack. On phones and tablets, tap in place of clicking.
Tips
- Grab temples early — they're the only source of new soldiers and Faith income, so losing one hurts twice.
- Three moves a turn goes fast; reinforcing a border you're about to lose usually beats a scattered attack.
- With four factions on one map, let two rivals fight each and push into whichever border is left undefended.
It suits players who want a short, sharp strategy session — a full match fits in a coffee break, with no account or install required.
