Cut The Rope 2 hands you a pair of scissors and a piece of candy dangling from ropes, but the trick this time is that Om Nom isn't standing still. He wanders across each level on his own path, so every puzzle is really two puzzles at once: get the candy moving and get Om Nom into position to catch it. A handful of Nommies — small creatures with their own quirks, like pushing objects or popping bubbles — show up mid-level to nudge things along if you use them right.
A round rarely takes longer than a minute, but the good levels make you replan twice: you start cutting toward an obvious drop point, notice Om Nom has already wandered off past it, and have to rework the rope order on the fly. Three stars per level reward a clean, no-wasted-cut solution, which is what keeps people replaying stages they've already cleared.
Controls
Mouse only: click and hold on a rope, then drag to cut it. Bubbles, spikes, and level gadgets are triggered the same way — click on them at the right moment.
Tips
- Watch where Om Nom is walking before you cut anything — plan his route first, then route the candy to meet him.
- Don't cut every rope holding the candy at once; cut in sequence so gravity and swing carry it toward Om Nom instead of dropping it straight down.
- If a level has a Nommie, figure out its one job (blocking, pushing, popping) before you touch a rope — it usually solves the half of the puzzle you're stuck on.
