About Desert Worms

Desert Worms drops you behind the wheel of a rover on an evacuated desert planet, sent out to recover research data the rest of humanity left behind. The vehicle drives itself forward across the dunes, so the game becomes a steering and reflex challenge: stay on the good ground, grab what you can, and don't get caught.

The danger is the giant worms that surface and lunge at your rover as you pass. You'll pick up boost and decoy charges along the way — boost punches you forward out of trouble, while a decoy gives a worm something else to chase for a few seconds. Both need to recharge before you can use them again, so a run is as much about pacing those two resources as it is about steering.

Controls

  • Left / Right arrows — steer
  • Up arrow — boost (when charged)
  • Down arrow — decoy (when charged)
  • Space — brake

Tips

  • Save your boost and decoy for when a worm is actually closing in — both need to recharge, so using them too early leaves you exposed later in the run.
  • Tap the brake through the densest clusters of rocks rather than trying to thread them at full speed; a controlled slowdown beats a crash.

It suits anyone who likes short, reflex-driven driving games where timing a couple of cooldowns matters as much as the steering itself.
