Foosball turns your screen into a tabletop soccer set: four rods a side, a ball that ricochets off the walls, and a goal to defend on each end. Instead of physically spinning a bar, you nudge each rank of miniature players up and down to intercept the ball and line up a shot past the opposing keeper.

Matches are quick and reflex-driven — the ball moves fast off the boards, so most of a round comes down to reading the angle and getting a rod in position half a second before the ball arrives. Play against the computer for a fast solo match, or pass the keyboard to a friend for local two-player table soccer.

• W — move your rod up
• S — move your rod down

Tips

• Keep your front rod centered between shots rather than chasing the ball — most goals come from a ball you didn't see coming back off the wall.
• Small, repeated taps give finer control than holding the key down, especially when you're lining up a shot on an open goal.
• Watch which rod the ball is heading toward before it arrives — reacting after it crosses a rod is usually too late.

A good pick for a short break: rounds are quick, there's nothing to learn beyond the two keys, and it plays just as well solo against the computer as it does passing the keyboard back and forth with a friend.
