About House of Hazards

House of Hazards is a two-player race through a booby-trapped house. Both of you sprint the same obstacle course at once, but the rooms are full of everyday objects you can trigger to sabotage whoever's ahead — the real game is reading the room a half-second before your opponent does.

Rounds are short and chaotic: you're weaving around hazards while also looking for the next one you can set off, so the lead swaps constantly. Whoever crosses the finish first takes the round, and a match is usually a quick best-of-several rematch rather than one long run.

Controls

Local two-player, split across one keyboard:

  • Player 1: A / D to move, W to jump, S to crouch or fire
  • Player 2: J / L to move, K to jump, I to crouch or fire

Tips

  • Don't just run — glancing at what's ahead of your opponent and triggering it early costs them more time than pure speed does.
  • Crouching gets you under some hazards instead of around them, which is often faster than dodging wide.
  • Losing a round by a hair is normal here; it's built for quick rematches, not one clean run.

Best with two people on the same keyboard — grab a friend for a couch-style rivalry rather than playing it solo.
