Mope.io drops you into an open arena as a tiny mouse with one job: eat enough to grow into something bigger before something bigger eats you. Food scattered across the map raises your size a little at a time, and swallowing a smaller player raises it a lot — what you evolve into next decides both what you're now allowed to eat and who's suddenly hunting you.
The map is split into land, water and air, and each animal only works in the zones it's built for, so a run becomes a loop of foraging, growing, and reading outlines before you commit to a fight. Anything with a red outline is currently strong enough to kill you, and land animals also have to circle back to water every so often or they start taking damage from thirst.
Controls
- Move the mouse — your animal follows the cursor
- Left click or Space — boost forward, at the cost of some of your food/size meter
Tips
- Check the outline before engaging anything nearby — red means it can currently eat you, so disengage instead of testing it
- Keep track of your water level as a land animal; don't let a chase pull you too far from a lake or coastline
- Spend the boost with purpose — it eats into your size meter, so save it for closing on food or breaking away from a predator, not casual movement
- Being bigger doesn't make you safe from everything — stay aware of what's around you at every stage, not just early on
It's built for short, replayable sessions rather than a fixed campaign — the appeal is seeing how far you can climb the food chain before something faster catches you.
