Shadow Trick is a 16-bit-style platformer built around one twist: your wizard can swap between the real world and a shadow realm at any moment, and most of the level design is built to make you use that swap constantly. A gap that's solid ground in one realm might be empty air in the , and enemies that block your path in one form might not even exist in the .
Beyond the platforming, you'll fight off minions and face boss encounters as you push through each stage, with hidden Moons tucked away in levels for anyone who wants to fully clear a stage rather than just reach the exit.
Controls
- A / Left arrow — move left
- D / Right arrow — move right
- W / Up arrow — jump
- E, Spacebar, or Enter — swap between the real world and the shadow realm
- P or Escape — pause
Tips
- When you hit an obstacle you can't get past, try swapping realms before looking for another route — the shadow world often removes or adds the exact thing that's stopping you.
- Boss fights use the same swap mechanic as the platforming, so keep the shadow toggle in mind mid-fight, not just between rooms.
- Going for every Moon means backtracking through parts of a level in both realms — worth doing on a second pass rather than trying to catch everything the first time through.
Made by Neutronized, the studio behind Slime Laboratory and Snow Tale — a good pick if you like platformers that build a puzzle mechanic into the movement itself rather than bolting it on as a side feature.
