About Space Thing

Space Thing drops two ships onto opposite sides of the screen and asks a simple question: who blinks first? You trade laser fire with an AI opponent (or a friend sitting next to you) across a run of retro-styled arcade levels, dodging incoming shots while lining up your own.

The single-player side runs you through waves of enemies and a string of boss fights, handing out laser upgrades and unlockable character skins as you clear them. There's also a mode built as a direct nod to classic Space Invaders, alongside the head-to-head local multiplayer option for when you'd rather beat a person than the AI.

Controls

  • Move — W/A/S/D or the arrow keys
  • Shoot — H or Z
  • Switch aim — J or X

Tips

  • Tap switch aim (J or X) to flip your firing direction instantly instead of repositioning — it's faster than trying to out-turn an opponent.
  • Grab shield power-ups the moment they appear; a topped-up shield is often the difference between surviving a boss's return volley and not.
  • Clear the early levels for laser upgrades before pushing into the tougher boss waves — a stronger shot matters once bosses start soaking up hits.

It's a good fit if you want a quick-reflex space shooter you can drop into for a few rounds, solo or passing the keyboard back and forth with a friend.
