Sugar, Sugar is a drawing puzzle by Belgian game designer Bart Bonte: grains of sugar stream down from the top of the screen, and your only tool is a pencil line. Draw a path for the sugar to slide along, and it pours wherever your line points, funneling into one or more waiting coffee cups below.
Each level starts simple — one stream, one cup — then adds more streams, more cups, and obstacles that block or redirect a straight line. Getting a passing amount of sugar into every cup clears the level; filling them close to the brim earns a better score. The trick is reading the whole layout before you commit to a line, since a path drawn too late gets outrun by the falling sugar.
Controls
Hold the left mouse button (or press and drag a finger on touchscreens) and drag to draw a line. The steeper the line, the faster sugar slides down it — useful for redirecting a stream in a hurry or splitting it between two cups.
Tips
- Draw in short segments instead of one long line — it's easier to correct a line that's about to miss a cup.
- Steep drops move sugar fast but give you less control over where it lands; use shallow lines near the cup opening for accuracy.
- Watch for levels with more than one stream — a single misplaced line can accidentally block a second stream you still need.
- Lines disappear after a few seconds, so plan for redrawing key paths rather than relying on one line to last the whole level.
It's a short, low-pressure puzzle game that suits quick breaks — each level takes well under a minute once you see the trick, but early misses make for a fair bit of trial and error.
