About Takeover

Takeover is a real-time strategy game about conquest. You start with a single city, build up a fighting force, and march it out to seize your neighbors' territory before they do the same to you.

Because it plays out in real time rather than turns, a match rewards steady decision-making over reflexes: reinforcing a border while an offensive is still on the move, or pulling an army back before it overextends. Every action is one click away, so the game is really about choosing where and when to commit, not about hand speed.

Controls

Everything runs off the left mouse button. Click to select a city or army, then click again on the target to give it an order.

Takeover started out as a Flash game from developer IriySoft in 2012 and was rebuilt in HTML5 in 2020. IriySoft also released it separately as a mobile app called Takeover RTS for iOS and Android, if you'd rather keep a campaign going on the go.
