Controls

Touchdowners features simple and intuitive control schemes for single-player and head-to-head action:

Single-Player Controls

• Move Left / Right: Use the Left and Right Arrow keys to run and tumble across the field.
• Pass / Throw: Press the Z key to pass the football forward when a player has possession.

Local Two-Player Controls

• Player 1 (Left Side): Use the Z and X keys to move left and right, and the C key to pass.
• Player 2 (Right Side): Use the Left and Right Arrow keys to move left and right, and the M key to pass.

Strategy and Tips

• Master the tumbling movement: Because players move by rotating their arms, they tend to roll and tumble easily. Use brief, tap inputs rather than holding the movement keys to keep your team upright and balanced.
• Pass before contact: If a defender is about to tackle your ball-carrier, quickly press the pass key to pitch the football forward to a teammate who has a clear path.
• Slam the ball down to score: Remember that in the standard settings, you must actually touch the ball to the ground in the opponent's endzone. Simply standing there is not enough, so keep moving until the touchdown is secured.
• Play the sidelines: Run your ball-carrier along the upper or lower edges of the screen to minimize the angles from which the opponents can attack and steal the ball.
