About Tower Merge

Tower Merge splits every level into two phases: a calm daytime build phase and a tense nighttime defense phase. During the day you drop new towers onto empty tiles and merge two matching towers into a stronger one — Watch Towers, Scout Towers, and Double Towers all start from the same basic unit and climb in power the more you combine. When night falls, waves of enemies push in along the path, and whatever you built during the day is all you have to stop them.

The loop rewards patience over speed. Spamming cheap towers everywhere leaves you with a weak board once the merges run out of room, so the better sessions come from clearing space, holding back a few towers to merge instead of placing them, and timing your last merges right before a wave hits. Losing a round isn't a hard stop — it's a nudge to rearrange your tile layout and try the next wave with a smarter merge chain.

Controls

Mouse only: click an empty tile to build a tower, and click-and-hold on a tower to merge it with a matching one. On phone and tablet, the same actions work with a tap and a tap-and-hold.

Tips

  • Don't fill every tile during the day — leave room to merge, since a full board with no upgrades left is weaker than a half-empty one with strong towers.
  • Merge towers of the same type before night falls; mid-wave merging is riskier once enemies are already closing in.
  • Prioritize merging whichever tower type is covering the choke point enemies funnel through, not just whichever pair is easiest to combine.

It suits short, replayable sessions — a few minutes to build, a wave to defend, and an easy decision to try again with a different layout.

Tower Merge FAQ

How do I merge towers in Tower Merge?
Click and hold on a tower, then drop it onto a matching tower to combine them into a stronger upgraded tower. On mobile, tap and hold instead of clicking.
What happens when night falls?
Waves of enemies march in along the path and attack whatever towers you built during the day. You can't place or merge new towers to react mid-wave as easily as you can before it starts, so the daytime setup is what determines whether you hold.
Can I play Tower Merge on mobile?
Yes, it works on phone and tablet using tap and tap-and-hold in place of mouse clicks, alongside desktop.
What should I do if a wave overwhelms my defenses?
Losing a wave just means rearranging your tile layout and merge priorities for the next attempt — there's no permanent penalty that stops you from trying again.
