Word Wipe Game

Word Wipe is an addictive, fast-paced word search game that challenges you to find words and clear the grid against a ticking clock. Developed by Arkadium, this game puts a unique spin on classic word-finding puzzles by incorporating line-clearing mechanics reminiscent of retro arcade games. Your goal is to clear as many rows and columns of letter tiles as possible before the fuse runs out.

Unlike standard word search puzzles where letters are in static positions, Word Wipe features a dynamic grid. As you form words and remove tiles, the letters above drop down to fill the gaps, creating new combinations. This requires you to plan ahead and think strategically about how each word you clear will rearrange the remaining letters on the board.

How to Play

To begin, look at the grid and identify letters that can spell a word of three or more characters. You can connect letters that are adjacent to one another in any direction: horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Click and drag your mouse, or swipe your finger on touch screens, to link the letters. When you release, the word is submitted, the tiles vanish, and the column collapses downward.

Controls

• Mouse / Trackpad: Click and drag to connect adjacent letters. Release to submit the word.
• Touch Screen: Tap and drag across letters to form connections, then lift your finger to submit.

Tips for High Scores

• Work from the Bottom: Clearing letters near the bottom of the grid causes more tiles above to fall, shuffling the grid more than clearing top tiles. Use this to create new word-making opportunities.
• Don't Forget Diagonals: Because you can connect letters diagonally, always scan in every direction. This is especially useful for finding longer, higher-scoring words that are not aligned in straight lines.
• Deploy Bombs Wisely: Earned by clearing levels, bombs can destroy a 3x3 block of tiles. Save them for tight situations when you are close to the time limit and need to clear specific rows or columns to reach your level objective.
