Build And Crush offers exactly what the title promises: a dual-phase sandbox where you construct intricate structures just to tear them down. In the first phase, you are given a blank canvas and a wide array of blocks, ramps, and special materials to assemble anything from small houses to sprawling fortresses. It captures the creative freedom of classic voxel building games but pairs it with an underlying physics engine designed to calculate realistic collapses.
Once you switch modes, the tools change from blocks to an arsenal of destructive forces. You can summon tornadoes, trigger earthquakes, or drop heavy explosives to see how well your architecture holds up. The appeal lies in the rapid cycle of testing a structure, watching the chaos unfold as it shatters into individual pieces, and then instantly rebuilding to try a different approach.
Controls
- Movement: WASD Keys
- Place Block / Fire Weapon: Left Mouse Click
- Delete Block / Aim: Right Mouse Click
- Cycle Inventory: Mouse Scroll Wheel
- Toggle Modes: C
Tips
- Test the foundation: When building, pay attention to the bottom layers. If you take out the lower supports in Crush mode, you can watch the entire building collapse under its own weight.
- Combine disasters: Do not just stick to one weapon. You can trigger an earthquake and spawn a tornado at the same time to maximize the destruction physics and clear the map quickly.
