About Doodle Jump

Doodle Jump is the quintessential endless climber where you guide a four-legged alien, "The Doodler," up a never-ending sheet of graph paper. You start at the bottom and automatically bounce from platform to platform, steering left and right to maintain your upward momentum. The goal is simple: survive as long as possible while avoiding broken platforms, black holes, and the occasional menacing monster that blocks your path.

What begins as a leisurely hop quickly escalates into a frantic vertical sprint. The pacing is brilliant, slowly introducing moving blue platforms, fragile brown platforms that shatter on impact, and sudden enemy encounters. You are constantly making split-second decisions, weighing the risk of grabbing a propeller hat or jetpack against the danger of overshooting your landing. One missed jump and you fall into the void, ending the run.

Controls

The Doodler jumps automatically whenever he touches a solid surface. Your only job is to steer and shoot.

  • Desktop: Use the Left and Right arrow keys (or A and D) to move horizontally. Press the Up arrow key (or click the mouse) to shoot in the direction you are facing.
  • Mobile/Tablet: Tilt your device left and right to steer. Tap anywhere on the screen to shoot.

Tips

  • Use the screen wrap: The left and right edges of the screen are connected. If you walk off the left side, you instantly appear on the right. This is crucial for dodging monsters or reaching tricky platforms when you get boxed in.
  • Prioritize springs and power-ups: Propeller hats, jetpacks, and springs not only launch you higher but also make you temporarily invincible to monsters. Make a habit of aiming for them even if it seems slightly risky.
  • Shoot blindly upward: At higher altitudes, the screen scrolls extremely fast. It is often safer to fire a few shots upward before landing on a spring to clear out any unseen monsters waiting above you.

Doodle Jump FAQ

How do you control The Doodler in Doodle Jump?
The Doodler bounces automatically. On a desktop, use the left and right arrow keys (or A and D) to steer, and the up arrow key to shoot. On a mobile device, tilt the screen to steer and tap to shoot.
What do the different colored platforms do?
Green platforms are standard and stationary. Blue platforms move horizontally. Brown platforms break as soon as you step on them, offering no bounce. White platforms disappear after you bounce on them once.
How can you defeat the monsters?
You can shoot them by pressing the up arrow key or clicking or tapping the screen. Alternatively, you can defeat them by landing directly on top of them, similar to bouncing on a regular platform.
