Ducklings.io is a cozy and charming multiplayer browser game where you play as a parent duck swimming around a busy pond. Your mission is simple but rewarding: rescue lost, yellow ducklings scattered across the water and safely guide them back to your home nest. As you deposit more rescued ducklings, your nest automatically upgrades, transforming from a simple pile of twigs into elaborate structures like a playground, a lighthouse, or even a rollercoaster.

While the game features a relaxing aesthetic and satisfying mechanics, you must stay alert. The pond is shared with players who can cut off your trailing line of ducklings to steal them for their own nests. Additionally, fast-moving motorboats periodically speed through the water, and colliding with one will instantly end your current rescue run. The loop is a gentle balance of gathering ducklings, watching your tail, and returning home before danger strikes.

Controls

• Movement: Move your mouse cursor or use the arrow keys to guide your duck across the water. On mobile, drag your finger on the screen.
• Quacking & Customisation: Press the Spacebar or Tab key (or tap your duck on mobile) while resting near your home nest to quack and browse through your collection of unlockable hats.

Tips and Strategy

• Deposit Frequently: Don't get too greedy. The longer your trailing line of ducklings, the easier it is for rival players to swim through and steal them. Make regular trips back to your nest to secure your progress.
• Watch for Boats: Keep your eyes peeled for motorized boats speeding across the pond. They travel in straight lines, so you can easily anticipate their path and swim out of the way.
• Choose Your Reputation: You can steal ducklings from players' lines, but doing so will damage your karma. Playing peacefully can encourage ducks to leave your flock alone, while aggressive play makes you a prime target.
• Unlock Hats: With over 50 hats to collect, check your nest upgrades regularly to see what new headwear you have unlocked.
