Fireboy and Watergirl 6: Fairy Tales takes the classic cooperative puzzle series and adds a magical new layer to the familiar temple exploring. You still control the elemental duo—either solo or with a friend on the same keyboard—but this time you also have to manage glowing fairies to solve the puzzles. It is a brilliant twist that forces you to juggle platforming, switch-flipping, and dragging light across the screen to open paths forward.
Every level is a test of coordination and timing. You must navigate deadly pools of elements while making sure the right colored fairy is sitting in its matching crystal switch. The challenge ramps up when you need to move a fairy to hold a door open, swap characters, jump across a pit, and then move the fairy again before the door closes on you.
Controls
- Fireboy: Arrow Keys to move and jump
- Watergirl: W, A, S, D to move and jump
- Fairies: Click and drag with the mouse to move them to crystal switches
Tips
- Always prioritize getting the fairies in place before committing to a tricky jump, as moving the mouse while platforming is difficult.
- If playing solo, practice moving both characters at once on the simpler straightaways—it saves time and helps build the muscle memory needed for the harder sync puzzles.
- Don't forget that the white fairies can activate any color of crystal switch, making them the most versatile tool in the temple.
Whether you are teaming up with a friend or testing your own coordination by playing solo, this sixth chapter is arguably the most complex and rewarding entry in the series.
