In Fireboy & Watergirl 3 Ice Temple, the cooperative puzzle-platformer shifts its focus to momentum and frozen surfaces. Controlling both elemental characters simultaneously—or teaming up with a friend on the same keyboard—you must navigate a series of intricate chambers. The goal is always to guide each character safely to their respective exit door while collecting as many elemental diamonds as possible along the way.

The Ice Temple introduces a fundamental twist to movement: asymmetrical friction. Watergirl moves effortlessly across ice, allowing her to scale frozen slopes, but Fireboy struggles for traction and slowly slides across flat ice while being completely unable to climb it. This forces you to approach each puzzle differently depending on who is taking the lead. A freeze ray mechanic also lets you manipulate water pools into ice and melt ice back into water to carve out safe paths.
