Fireboy & Watergirl 5 Elements Game

Fireboy & Watergirl 5: Elements is a two-player co-op puzzle platformer where you guide a fire character and a water character through the same rooms at once. Fireboy walks through lava but dies in water; Watergirl swims through pools but dies in lava. Both of them die instantly in the green goo scattered through every level, so it's the one hazard neither of you can rely on the to survive.

Because the two characters share every level, most puzzles come down to timing and order rather than reflexes alone — a lever on one side often has to be pulled before the character can safely cross. This entry folds four temples from earlier games back in alongside three built new for it, so returning players get some familiar rooms mixed with fresh mechanics.

Controls

• Fireboy: Arrow keys (left/right to move, up to jump)
• Watergirl: W, A, D (W to jump)

Playing solo means running both sets of keys yourself; with a friend, split them across the same keyboard.

Temples

Elements brings back four temples from the earlier games — Forest, Light, Ice and Crystal — and adds three made specifically for this one: Fire, Water and Wind. The Wind Temple's floor fans briefly lift both characters into the air, which changes how you have to time jumps compared to the older temples.

Tips

• Look over the whole room before moving either character — many puzzles need one to hit a switch before it's safe for the to cross.
• Keep the two hazards straight: lava only kills Watergirl, water only kills Fireboy, and green goo kills both.
• In the Wind Temple, wait for a fan to actually kick on before jumping into its updraft instead of trying to beat its timing.

It plays best as a two-person session on one keyboard, though solo play works fine once you're comfortable switching your attention between both characters.
