About Get On Top

Get On Top is a brutal, physics-driven wrestling match where two connected figures try to force the 's head into the floor. Created by Bennett Foddy, the designer behind QWOP, the game revolves entirely around momentum, balance, and punishing your opponent's mistakes. With hands locked together in a permanent grapple, every movement you make instantly shifts the weight and leverage of both fighters.

Because rounds are decided in a fraction of a second, the tension is immediate. Aggressive lunges can quickly backfire if the player leans out of the way, sending you crashing headfirst into the concrete. It is a pure tug-of-war that requires only one keyboard and a friend to play, blending chaotic ragdoll physics with a surprisingly high skill ceiling.

Controls

Both players share a single keyboard to control their respective fighters.

  • Player 1 (Left): Use W, A, S, D to push, pull, jump, and crouch.
  • Player 2 (Right): Use the Arrow Keys for identical movements.

Tips

  • Defensive Crouching: Holding down (S or Down Arrow) lowers your center of gravity. It is the safest position to hold while waiting for the player to overextend.
  • Use Their Momentum: If your opponent constantly lunges forward, hold backward to pull them over your head as they launch, using their aggressive movement against them.
  • Sudden Lunges: A quick push forward and upward can catch a defensive player off-guard, but only do this when their balance is already shifted backward.
