About Heart Star

Heart Star is a cooperative puzzle-platformer built around two characters instead of one. A girl and a boy each interact with their own color of block — one can stand on and pass through red objects, the through blue — and every level asks you to switch between them to get both characters safely to their own goal.

You control one character at a time and swap to the whenever the puzzle needs it: cross a gap as one, then flip over to move a block or hold down a switch for the . It's slower and more thoughtful than a normal platformer, since rushing ahead with the wrong character usually just leaves you stuck.

Controls

  • Arrow keys or WASD — move
  • X — jump
  • C — swap between the two characters

Tips

  • Before moving either character, look at which color blocks are in the way — that tells you which character actually needs to go first.
  • You can often use one character as a stepping platform for the ; try standing them in place before assuming a gap is too wide.
  • If you're stuck, swap characters and look at the room from the one's perspective — the block that's blocking you is usually passable for your partner.

Heart Star was made by Adventure Islands and works on desktop, phone and tablet, so it plays fine with either a mouse and keyboard or touch controls.
