n-gon is a free, open-source 2D shooter built by solo developer Ross Landgreen, running entirely in the browser on the matter.js physics engine. You play a small polygonal fighter dropped into a randomized rotation of named arenas — sewers, a warehouse, a coliseum, a satellite station, and dozens more — clearing out geometric enemies with a growing stash of weapons before the level's boss shows up.
Every level is fought with matter.js physics doing real work: bullets bounce off walls, enemies get knocked back by impacts, and your own momentum carries you through jumps and slides. You start with a basic gun and pick up new weapons and field abilities as you clear rooms, so a session snowballs from a plain shooter into a screen full of ricochets and crowd-control tricks by the final fight.
Every key can be rebound from the in-game settings panel, which also lets you set a difficulty (easy, normal, hard, or the joke-difficulty "why?"), cap the frame rate, and type in a specific level seed if you want to replay a particular layout.
n-gon suits players who like their shooters a little chaotic and physics-driven rather than tightly scripted — short, replayable sessions where no two runs pull the same mix of guns and fields.
