About Age of War

Age of War is a base-defense strategy game where you build an army, evolve your civilization, and grind down the enemy base one wave at a time. Resource points trickle in on their own and pile up faster when your units land kills, and you spend them building soldiers, vehicles and turrets that march automatically toward the enemy's side of the screen.

The real hook is the evolve button: once you have enough points, upgrading your age throws out your current unit roster for a stronger one, from clubs and rocks in the Stone Age up through tanks, mechs and eventually laser-armed forces in the Future. Evolving too early leaves you with pricier, weaker units for a while; waiting too long lets the enemy out-tech you. Whoever finally batters down the side's headquarters wins.

Controls

Everything is mouse-only. Click a unit or turret icon along the top of the screen to spend points and deploy it, and click the evolve icon when you have enough points saved up to advance to the next age.

Tips

  • Don't evolve the instant you can afford it — a few extra points saved up first means you can also afford a unit or two in the new age instead of evolving into an empty roster.
  • Mix cheap frontline units with turrets; the frontline soaks hits while turrets pick off whatever gets through.
  • Watch what the enemy is building and counter it — heavy armor calls for anti-vehicle units, swarms call for area damage.

It's a short, replayable session for anyone who likes tug-of-war strategy games where the balance of power keeps flipping as both sides tech up.

Age of War FAQ

What are the controls for Age of War?
Everything is done with the mouse. Click a unit or turret icon to deploy it, and click the evolve icon once you have enough points to advance to the next age.
How do I win?
Destroy the enemy's headquarters before they destroy yours. Send units to wear down their base while your own units and turrets defend against their attacks.
Should I evolve as soon as I can afford it?
Not always. Evolving resets your available unit roster to the new age's weaker starting options, so saving a few extra points first lets you also afford a unit right after evolving instead of starting the new age empty-handed.
Is there a mobile version?
The game relies on mouse clicks for building units and evolving, so it's best played on a desktop or laptop browser.
