Bad Ice-Cream 2 brings you back to Nitrome's pixelated grid to collect fruit, trap enemies, and avoid melting. You pick an ice cream flavor and drop into maze-like levels filled with patrolling creatures. To win, you must gather every single piece of fruit on the board. The catch is that new waves of fruit often spawn only after you clear the first batch, forcing you to navigate the same dangerous territory multiple times.
Your only defense is the ability to shoot rows of ice blocks or shatter existing ones. This mechanic turns the game from a simple collection run into a frantic puzzle. You'll constantly build walls to block a charging enemy, shatter a barrier to reach a banana, and quickly rebuild the wall behind you. Things get especially chaotic in the two-player mode, where you share the keyboard and have to coordinate your ice-building so you don't accidentally trap your partner with a monster.
Controls
- Player 1: Arrow keys to move, Spacebar to shoot/break ice.
- Player 2: WASD to move, Q to shoot/break ice.
Tips
- Don't panic-shoot: It's easy to accidentally trap yourself in a corner by mashing the ice button when an enemy approaches.
- Trap, then collect: If a fast enemy is guarding a cluster of fruit, lure it to one side of the map and wall it off with ice before going for the collection.
- Camp the fruit spawns: Pay attention to where the next wave of fruit appears; you can sometimes position yourself right where it will drop to instantly collect a large chunk of it.
