Bloons Tower Defense 4 tasks you with popping endless waves of balloons (bloons) before they reach the end of the track. You place various monkey-themed defensive towers along the path, each with unique attack styles and upgrade trees. As the rounds advance, the bloons become faster, tougher, and more densely packed, culminating in massive blimps that require heavy firepower to crack.
The game demands careful resource management and spatial planning. Every bloon popped earns you cash, which you must continually reinvest into new towers or upgrades to keep pace with the escalating difficulty. Finding the right balance between rapid-fire early defenses and powerful, specialized late-game units is the key to surviving the later rounds on the game's various tracks.
Controls
You can play the entire game using just your mouse.
- Left-click: Select towers, place them on the map, and purchase upgrades.
Tips
- Start strong and cheap: Early on, rely on Dart Monkeys and Tack Shooters placed near corners or loops to maximize their damage potential while saving cash.
- Prepare for lead: Around round 28, you will encounter lead bloons which are immune to sharp objects. Ensure you have Bomb Towers ready before they arrive.
- Build a Super Monkey: Funnel your mid-to-late game economy into acquiring and upgrading at least one Super Monkey, as its unparalleled attack speed is necessary for bringing down MOAB-class blimps.
- Utilize slowing effects: Ice Towers and Glue Gunners do not pop bloons efficiently on their own, but they clump waves together, making your area-of-effect towers far more devastating.
