Break the Siesta is an action platformer about staying awake. Your character has a habit of nodding off mid-climb, and the only cure is spice: chase down chili peppers scattered up each level to keep him alert while he scales toward a giant pepper waiting at the top.
The peppers themselves scale the danger with the Scoville chart — early ones are mild and forgiving, later ones are hot enough to matter, and grabbing them is what keeps the sleep meter from creeping back up. Water and milk drops do the opposite, dousing the heat and pushing your character back toward a nap, so timing a climb around them is most of the challenge.
Controls
Spacebar, mouse click, or tap to jump — that's the whole input on both desktop and mobile.
Tips
- Grab peppers on the way up rather than doubling back for one you missed; backtracking usually costs more wakefulness than the pepper restores.
- Treat water and milk as obstacles to route around, not just hazards to survive — a jump timed to skip past one keeps your streak of peppers uninterrupted.
- Later levels lean on hotter peppers for bigger wake-up value, so don't assume every pepper on screen is worth the same detour.
It's a short, single-button session — good for a quick round rather than a long sitting, and it runs straight in the browser with nothing to install.
