Classic Solitaire brings the timeless card-sorting challenge directly to your browser. Also known as Klondike Solitaire, this game tests your patience, strategy, and memory as you organize a standard 52-card deck into neat, ordered piles. It is the perfect choice for a quick mental break or a relaxing session of solo problem-solving.

A standard game begins with twenty-eight cards dealt into seven tableau columns of increasing size. The remaining cards form the draw pile. Your goal is to move all cards to the four foundation piles, organizing each suit in ascending order from Ace to King. By revealing hidden cards and shifting columns in alternating colors, you can gradually clear the board and claim victory.

How to Play

The rules of Klondike Solitaire are simple but require careful planning:

• Build the Foundations: Start each of the four foundation piles with an Ace. Stack cards of the same suit in ascending order (Ace, 2, 3, ..., Queen, King).
• Arrange the Tableau: Move cards between the seven columns on the main board. You can place cards on top of each only if they are in descending order and of alternating colors (for example, a red Queen on a black King).
• Reveal Hidden Cards: When you move a face-up card to another column, the face-down card underneath is revealed. Click it to turn it face up.
• Use the Draw Pile: When you run out of moves on the board, draw cards from the deck in the top corner to find new possibilities.
• Clear Space: Only a King (or a group of cards starting with a King) can be placed in an empty tableau column.

Controls

You can play using a mouse or touch-screen controls:

• Click and Drag: Hold and move any face-up card or stacked pile to shift it to another column or foundation.
• Single Click / Tap: Click the draw pile to reveal a card.
• Double-Click / Double-Tap: Automatically send a valid card to its corresponding foundation pile.

Tips for Success

• Expose hidden cards early: Prioritize making moves that reveal face-down cards in the tableau. The more cards you have face up, the more options you have.
• Don't empty columns too quickly: Avoid clearing a column unless you already have a King ready to fill the empty space. An empty spot is useless without a King to place in it.
• Manage the draw pile carefully: Avoid putting cards into the foundations too quickly if those cards are still needed to help transition cards down the tableau.
• Look before you leap: If you have multiple options for moving cards on the tableau, choose the move that uncovers the deepest stack or reveals a card from the pile with the most face-down cards.
