Krew.io drops you on the deck of a pirate ship in a shared ocean full of crews doing the same thing: hunting loot, sinking rivals, and racing back to port to spend it. You start small, chopping wood or taking potshots at passing ships for scraps, but a full session escalates into short bursts of cannon fire, hull repairs, and coordinating with whoever else is riding your ship.
The tension comes from splitting jobs at once: someone has to steer and someone has to man the cannons, and a ship with no coordination sinks fast. Docking at one of the game's islands pauses the danger. For ten seconds you're invulnerable, long enough to trade goods, recruit more crew, and upgrade your ship before heading back out to open water.
Controls
- WASD - move / steer
- Left click - use tool / attack
- Space - jump
- Number keys 1-4 - switch tools
- H - help menu
On mobile, movement switches to a virtual joystick with on-screen buttons for jumping, firing, and switching tools.
Tips
- Solo crews are an easy target. Pairing up with even one player roughly doubles your survivability, since one of you can watch for boarders while the steers.
- Use the ten-second invulnerability window after docking to actually plan your next move, not just to shop.
- If you're the one steering into contested waters, prioritize hull upgrades; if you're manning the cannons, prioritize weapon upgrades instead.
It suits players who like short, social multiplayer sessions more than solo score-chasing. A round is a lot less fun without at least one person on your ship.
