Like a King is a tower-defense deck-builder: you play a king defending your side of the board with a hand of unit cards, while an opposing king does the same. Spawn units onto empty tiles and they march, fight and combine automatically, so the game is less about twitch reactions and more about reading the board and timing your cards.
Rounds come down to card combinations. Certain units are stronger paired together than alone, so part of the appeal is learning which combos in your collection punch above their individual cost and holding them until the matchup calls for it, rather than dropping cards the moment you draw them.
Controls
Tap an empty tile to spawn a unit from your hand. Draw a line from a unit to an enemy unit to direct its attack.
Tips
- Don't spend every card as soon as you draw it — holding a strong combo for the right moment usually beats playing units piecemeal.
- Watch what the opposing king is building toward, not just your own board; a lot of these matchups are won by countering a combo before it lands.
A good fit if you like strategy games with short rounds — enough depth to plan around, without the long time commitment of a full deck-builder campaign.
